Hello Everyone,
So as I'm sure many of you know, The Hobbit is out in the UK on the 14th Decmeber ( 10 days to go woooo) I am so excited! I have been doing lots of thing to get ready for it, for example re- reading the book which I am sure a lot of you are doing. Also I had a Lord of the Rings marathon ( extended version) which was awesome as you can't beat having a movie marathon to help you relax and get ready for the story that came before it ( plus the films rock).
But the main reason that I am writing this blog is because for those of you that don't no Peter Jackson has been doing Vlogs about the making of The Hobbit which people have been putting on Youtube. I thought you lot would be interested too.
Here is the first one to get you started :)
The Hobbit production diary
This is just a blog for me to talk about the subject I enjoy most in life. As my friends might be getting bored of me talking about the same subject then I don't think there is a better way to voice my opinion than let it all out on this blog. I dont just love films though, I also have a thing about TV series like Big Bang Theory, Firefly, Fresh Prince, Futurama, Red Dwarf and loads of others. So yeah this blog is about me saying whether I love or hate films and Tv series. Hope you guys enjoy :)

Very Bad Things (1998)
Hello everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but to make it up to you here is my review on Very Bad Things.
So this is classed at a Comedy, Crime, Thriller. To be honest though I didn't find it funny, there were a few moments at the beginning but nothing that would give it a comedy genre. Even looking at the plot that is mentioned in the blurb it doesn't make it seem like it is going to be funny at all. So on to the plot....
Kyle (Jon Favreau) and Laura ( Cameron Diaz ) are getting married and Kyle is going on a bachelor night to Las Vegas. But things suddenly turn bad when a prostitute turns up and is killed, with bodies and pressure starting to building up the friends start to turn on each other. So as you can see doesn't sound to funny.
Kyle is annoying he has no back bone until the end and spend most of his time moaning and crying which is fine up to a certain point. But the character that annoyed me the most was Laura, she was so obsessed with having a wedding ( it was all she ever talked about even when people where dying all around her) and then when she finds out everything and why it has all happened all she has to say is that Kyle is not going to ruin her big day for her and the wedding will go on with or with out him ( which is slightly impossible, unless she has someone on the side) I mean im sorry but I don't know of any one or heard of anyone that obsessed with weddings ( im sure there are people out there) but it just got irritating and seemed to far-fetched.
Christian Slater's character was by far the one that made the movie watching his thought process of everything that was going on and seeing him loose his mind was interesting to watch.
It wasn't an all bad movie it did get you involved in the story and did keep you interested in what was going on but it won't be a movie I will recommend as a good film to watch on a movie night. Or even one that I will watch over and over again.
All in all I give this movie 5/10

Chernobyl Diaries 2012
Urgh typical stupid decisions that people make in these types of films. They are Planning on going to Moscow and at the very last minute, like on the day they are ment to be going they decide to go to Chernobyl with a guy one of them ( Paul) met the night before called Yuri. I mean come on who with common sense would actually do that!!
Ok so when they get their, there is military guys that say there are doing maintenance in Chernobyl, so the tour guide takes them round a back way. Which they all find a little odd and that something isn't quiet right, except one that is like it is going to be fine blah blah blah ( I think he will die first or if not first one of the first to die lets see shall we...)
So Yuri takes them around and obviously knows that there is something about the place that means they should not be there but he carries on. Until they are in the apartments and they hear noises. So I was like finally something big is going to go down it is getting close to dark they have seen a creepy fish and a dead dog. And what is it..... A BEAR OF COURSE urgh what the hell is this....
HA yet more obvious situations they get back to the van and guess what.... you got it it doesn't start and when they try and get radio contact that doesn't work either. Can anyone else see where this is going. It gets dark they can't go anywhere and they think they can hear a baby cry.... Is this suppose to make me scared....
So shit goes down and one of them is hurt yay finally but not dead so I'm not happy yet. Further on into the film oh look we found the missing walkie talkie and a path of blood what is the sensible thing to do... oh yh as with all horror films... follow it yay thats a good idea not!!
So it is near the end of the movie the van they were in is destroyed they find one of them that was in it then she get taken away and zombie/ deformed people chase them. Still not scared by the way the camera work is so shaky you have no idea what is going on, not to mention when anything happens it is dark so that makes it even harder to see.
So there are 2 left the idiot that got 3 of them to go in the first place and one of the girls. They keep getting into areas with massive amounts of radiation that is starting to effect them. So yet more fighting the weird people with so much shaky cam it is unreal and and the radiation has made one of them blind. Until he gets shot by a guard hmmm ok...
The other one gets saved and taken to what she is told is hospital and shoved in a cell with a load of the same creatures. Yh the end....
So nothing at all was explained as to what the hell was going on. All the "scary" bits were predictable and you couldn't tell what was happening half the time. There was next to nothing character development, plus none of them were very likable. Even Friday the 13th had more character development then this. It was badly put together, badly filmed and crap script and action all in all the worst film i have seen this year so far!!

Red Dwarf X
So it finally happened Red Dwarf is back. I must admit I wasn't sure about it. After season 7 and 8, then Back to Earth which to put it bluntly were crap. They lost there edge and just weren't as funny any more.
Then two days ago the first episode of Season Ten came out.... I was pleasantly surprised, I found it funny, it didn't lose its cheesiness, put cleverly thought out jokes.
I lot of people have been very picking about the fact that holograms aren't suppose to age. True they aren't but they couldn't really stop Chris Barrie from ageing now could they, get over it, it couldn't be helped, it has been over ten years. Most of the cast has changed Robert Llewellyn is a little chubbier which can be seen through his new costume, Craig Charles look a lot older and slightly rough, and Chris Barrie has aged to well. Danny John Jules on the other hand looks exactly the same and got back into the role of the Cat brilliantly, he was the one I was looking forward to seeing back on the screen the most and he didn't fail to please.
All in all this was a nice surprise, I enjoyed seeing them all back together on the screen and I found it very funny. If you loved Red Dwarf and haven't seen it yet, do give it a go I'm sure you will be happy with what they have done.

Lady Vengeance
Hello everyone!
So due to our editing software going tits up we are running late on putting up our first vlog. So I am going to do a review about Lady Vengeance up here :) hope you enjoy.

After thirteen and a half years in prison for kidnapping and murdering a child. The main character Geum-Ja Lee is released and sets out to find the guy that put her in there to seek her revenge.
By the directors of Oldboy, this film is interesting, sinister and in places confusing. You do have to play attention throughout. Which to be honest really doesn't bother me at all but if you are a busy person make sure you do have time to sit down and give it your full attention. It is very artistic in form and if you don't like them kind of films it might not be for you. It is a lot different from Oldboy so don't watch it thinking about comparing it because it would be wrong to try and compare such differently styled films.
The camera work is lovely, even in places that make you cringe. The writing is brilliant I can't fault it. It is funny and thought provoking. What I will say is in places the action is a bit slow. There are a few places where people just don't seem to do anything and they is no speech for a long time. So you are just sat waiting for something to happen. But when they do start again it is worth the wait. ( Maybe I am just really impatient) But all in all it is well worth a watch at least once. If you love messed up Korean movies.

Quadrophenia
Hello Everyone,
Thought i would have a break from new movies and do a review on a old classic. So here it is......

So for those of you that haven't seen this, it is about Jimmy a Mod in 1965. He hates his life most of all his parents and his Job. Only his 'mod' friends make him feel free and accepted. It is based very loosely on The Who musical also with the same name.
With good music, lots of scooters and appearances from people such as Sting, Toyah Willcox, Ray Winstone and of course Phil Daniels which most of you will know from Blur's song Parklife where he speaks the verses.
Lots of things happen and it keeps you involved in the story. Which is always a good thing.
It is an 18 so do expect violence, drugs, nudity and strong language through out, if you are offended by any of these things it might not be for you but it you do like this sort of stuff then go ahead watch it and enjoy :)
Watch this space i will be back soon.

21 jump street
Hello everyone
This film is now out on DVD and I have only just got round to watching it due to the fact that i thought it was going to be rubbish I was wrong.....
For those of you that don't know it is about two rubbish cops that get set back to high school in order to find out and send down the person in charge of selling a new synthetic drugs to high school children.
I was actually pleasantly surprised at this film. It was funny, action packed and well acted not to mention a awesome surprise appearance from a very well known actor that put a massive smile on my face. It was well acted and not only been funny it did get across emotions and you felt for the characters. For course though for all the women out there Channing Tatum is as fit as ever and real eye candy, even when he has long hair ( I still thought he was fit). Jonah Hill i was shocked when i saw him on the front cover but even more in the film. how much weight he had lost and he was looking good.
The music was awesome and it was a really very enjoyable and entertaining.
So if you want a laugh and you haven't checked it out already give it a go :)

The Five Year Engagement
Hello Everyone!
I realised the other day that it has been a long long time since I reviewed a Rom-com so I thought it was about time I did, so here it is I hope you enjoy it....

Are two main characters are Tom ( Jason Seagel) and Violet ( Emily Blunt). Who after a year of knowing each other get engaged. But due to things happening it get harder and harder for them to get down the aisle. Tom a Chef puts his career on the sidelines in order for Violet to fulfil her dream in psychology. He gets a job in a college deli and becomes more and more depressed, while she is worried that she is been selfish.
I am a fan of Jason Seagel's writing and he hasn't disappointed me the writing gives a believable story line ( but of course some of it goes a little over the top for comedic value) What disappointed me with the film was the bland camera angles they did nothing for the movie. Even in what are supposed to be comedic high points in the movie like Violet get shot in the leg with a cross bow. Just seemed to flat line due to the camera angles with in the scene. There were no real memorable moments in this movie, some occasional laugh out loud moments and just a nice story to sit back and enjoy with a glass of wine.
So there you have it and watch this space :)

The Watch
Hello everyone!!
So I have finally managed to tear myself away from Breaking Bad and thought I would do a review on The Watch so here it is....
As you can see our four main actors are Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade, and they make the neighbourhood watch. It starts of with Evan ( Stiller) who is a manager at Costco and his night guard is murdered by what the police describe as some kind of beast. Being very pissed off about the whole thing Evan starts a neighbourhood watch, to try and find the murderer. So meet Bob ( Vaughn) a guy just looking for beer buddies, Franklin ( Hill) who failed to get into the police force and Jamarcus ( Ayoade ) who had a fantasy about having sex with an Asian woman because he was part of the neighbourhood watch.
This film is a typical lads film, but unfortunately everything was just to obvious and the jokes were just the same kind of thing over and over again ( there are only so many sex and penis jokes one person can handle) they even put in really cheap one when saying the aliens cum is the green slime that appears when they are killed ( desperate or what).
There were some amusing bits it in but nothing laugh out loud kind of stuff and every joke just seemed to die. There was no real character development in the movie there pitiful attempt was Evan been sterile so him and he wife couldn't have kids. There was really no need for this it brought nothing to the story at all and was just in my opinion annoying.
The thing that kept me watching this movie was the aliens it was interesting to see what they could come up with for a comedy, sci-fi about an alien invasion and the aliens were good, kind of insects crossed with dinosaurs. To be honest over all I was disappointed with the movie, the writing was nothing new, same old lads comedy kind of stuff ( sorry Seth Rogan, Evan Goldberg and Jared Stern) The only thing they brought new was the alien invasion ( which started in a Costco the question is why costco? I guess food and everything they "need" is there) but the comedy behind this was just to put it bluntly rubbish.
Wish I could say something good about the movie but I just can't sorry people. I give this film a 4/10
Watch this space I will be back soon.

Breaking Bad
Hello everyone!
So I have been catching up with Breaking Bad as I hadn't seen season 3 or 4 never mind the beginning of season 5. Omg it is awesome I thought the first two were good they just keep getting better and better. For though of you that don't know what this is about here is a brief summary.
Walter White is a science teacher and finds out that he is dying of lung cancer, so to make sure his family has another money to survive after he has passed he turns to making the best Crystal Meth around but things soon getting out of hand. When him and his partner Jessie get mixed up with the wrong people.
This is by far one of my favourite seasons to watch at the moment it is full of drama, and is even funny in places. It is gripping and will get you addicted after the first episode. If you haven't seen this yet seriously give it a shot. If you like gun, explosions, some gore, and good script and story lines then this is the series for you check it out. Here is a trailer for you breaking bad trailer so you can see what you have been missing out on.

So yeah if you like things like this check it out there are full episodes on youtube I will start you off with this link my strange addiction which is the nail vanish one and have fun peeps.

Rock n' Roll Nerd
Hello Everyone!
My friend got in touch with me the other day and told me I had to watch this documentary on one of my favourite comedians Tim Minchin directed by Rhian Skirving. So of course I did. I am very late in watching it but I had no idea it even existed. It came out in 2008 and it took them three years to film.
It is about him starting out his career and I literally had no idea how much stuff he went through to try and get to the top. I not going to mention exactly what happens to him. But If you are a fan of him I do recommend watching this. It is very interesting and you really get to see what he is like back stage and in his home environment. Of course you also met his wife that he has been with since the age of 17. I really enjoyed this documentary not just because it was about someone that I like but also because of the amount of time it has taken to do it and and it is very well put together. My friend and I have both gained a whole new respect for him and I'm sure you will too.
Watch this space guys see you soon

The Dictator
Hello Everyone!
For those of you that don't know what this is about, it is about a man that rules over his kingdom not caring about the poor, torturing people and getting them killed. When people try to kill him and think they have succeeded. He ends up been a 'normal citizen' and he has to work out away to get his position back.
This film to put it bluntly was utter crap. At least before when he did things like Ali G and Borat they were part of a social experiment so him acting stupid was more funny especially seeing the people reactions to what he was doing. Now he has lost his touch, it isn't funny it is just stupid. I didn't laugh once and to be completely honest I was tempted to stop watching it on about 5 occasions.
His old stuff was different and stood out in the film industry now it is just the same as everything else even to the point of crappy love stories within it. ( That it didn't need he was starting to learn the lesson of the story before the whole full on love story urgh)
He has done a pretty smooth move over from mockumentary to a standard film with a story it is just a shame that it was crap. In my opinion he should go back to what he is good at Mockumentaries and bring people joy and laughter through making points rather than stupid stories that granted are very controversial and can be taken either way but it just isn't the same.
Not impressed with this movie at all but if you do like him and you want to see him do something different go for it. People do find this movie funny ( I guess I must just be one of the few that doesn't ) you might be one of them so try it out and see. I personally give this film a 3/10 (sorry all you Sacha lovers)

The Pirates: In an Adventure with scientists
Hello Everyone!
I know this came out in April but I have only just got round to watching it.
It is about a Pirate Captain called who would have thought it Pirate Captain although he ain't all that good and getting the booty as they call it. He dreams of been the Pirate of the year and so the tale begins.
Aardman you have done it again ( why would I think any different) It is funny, simple, full of great actors and actress ( I will get to them later) and a awesome soundtrack for example we have the likes of London Calling by The Clash, I'm not crying by Flight of the Concords ( omg I let out a little eek! when that came on wasn't expecting anything by them at all ) and Alright by Supergrass for the Credits. Not very pirate like but who cares it fit in really well and they are awesome songs.
This film is packed with huge stars for example Hugh Grant, David Tennant, Martin Freeman, Imelda Staunton, Lenny Henry and the awesome Brain Blessed. Giving this film fun and laughter for all the family. Of course it is mainly stop motion which is not only a hell of a lot of work but hard and time consuming. But well done guys you have another very good movie to be proud of. Most of the backgrounds are done in CGI but does this make the film any worse no and can you really tell only if you are really looking, which is great.
All in all I have to say this is a great family movie and if your kids have liked chicken run or Wallace and Gromit. They will probably love his too plus it is Pirates ( FRIGGING PIRATES what is not to love)
So yeah check it out I give this film a 7/10.
Thanks for reading and watch this space :)
Brave 2012
Hello everyone
I have just watched Brave ( hence the review) and I must say it wasn't too bad. Been a fan of Disney and it simplicity this doesn't fail to deliver. It is the story of a young princess that is forced by tradition to be betrothed. She however goes out of her way to stop this and causes chaos to her kingdom. She runs away and follows willow of the wisp ( yes I know a little sad but it is Disney) to a witch that grants her one spell causing danger to her and her mother.
Obviously this is directed at young children but it does have some hidden adult humour for the adults to enjoy ( I did find it amusing in places). Of course because it is for children there isn't much in the way of story as such. It is a very simple fairytale that children will love although there are some bits right at the end that some children may find a little scary. But other than that it is a really nice children's film.
The animation is very simple but very pretty at the same time so it is a nice film to watch visually. There are a few bits where the animation isn't up to standard but that is mostly the case anyway and I don't know many people that it actually really bothers if notices at all anyway. The Music in it was lovely and very fitting to the Celtic tones of the movie it really helped bring the story to life.
Just to make it more awesome for adults Billy Connolly does the voice of the father and of course he is the main source of humour ( which is always nice) but he was not the only big name in this Julie Walter did the voice of the witch and Kelly McDonald ( for those of you that don't know she was in Trainspotting and No country of old men not to mention Harry Potter and the deathly hallows) does the voice of the lead role Merida. And Emma Thompson was the voice of the mother so all in all a very good cast of actor/actress' to take on the main roles.
So the film is a good choice for you to be taking your kids to see this summer. Providing that they aren't scared of bears. And one I'm sure that most parents wont mind seeing as well. I give this film an 8/10 thank you for reading and watch this space.

Savages 2012
So as promised here is a review on Savages....
We have two best friends Ben (Aaron Johnson) and Chon (Talyor Kitsch) that share a girlfriend called O short for Ofelia ( Blake Lively). Ben and Chon have created the strongest weed no to man and have a thriving business. Until a Mexican Drug Cartel decides they want part of it. They say no and so O gets kidnapped and so the shit starts.
I didn't mind this film but it is nothing spectacular, there is no way it is going to be compared with classics like Scarface or City of God, but it was enjoyable to watch. Although Ofelia was the major let down in this movie she was your typical damsel in distress. She was useless the writer for her must have just had a blank moment. All she does is sit there and look pretty for almost the entire movie, plus she narrates the story (Which is so badly done). The script for her is horrible you gain no emotion for her what so ever in fact half way through the movie I decided I didn't care whether she survived or didn't. The two lads were pretty much the same, although I felt more for Ben in the movie than Chon, who was just a massive idiot and kept escalating the situation through out the movie.
There were two characters for me that actually made this movie more interesting and they were Lado ( Benicio Del Toro) and Dennis ( John Travolta) Not only are there pretty good actors anyway but they actually gave some secondary plot to the film. Lado works for the Mexican Drug Cartel and does all there dirty work like torture ( he was fairly badass) and Dennis was a dirty cop that looks out for number one.
Overall the film wasnt that bad to watch it had some fairly gross bits in it. Loads of guns and explosives which they seem to like in these types of movies. It did keep you interested but only because of Lado and Dennis. This isn't a film for children there is gore and sex all of course drug use lots of it. But if you like lots of guns and explosions give it a go. I rate this film about a 5/10 .
Watch this space people and thanks for reading.

Kenneth Williams: Fantabulosa!
Hello Everyone!
I know I said that I would be doing my next post on either Magic Mike or Savages but I watched a program on the telly that I really enjoyed and thought I would share it with you so here it is...

As a big carry on fan this program instantly caught my eye. Fantabulosa is dramatised version of Kenneth Williams life. You follow him from his young life as a boy to when they found him dead in his flat in Camden on the 15th April 1988. There is one main thing that annoyed me though. When his father died after taking poison they made out within this program that Kenneth went to see his father, when in matter of fact he didn't and on the night his father was proclaimed dead Kenneth went on stage and preformed like it was any other night. Due to this fact he was denied a visa to America as Scotland Yard had on record that Kenneth was a suspect in his fathers death ( I know this by reading the biographies about Kenneth Williams which are based on his journals) You may think reading this that is isn't a big deal but in my opinion it is. If they had shown him not going to the hospital to see his father it would have shown the audience how much he didn't like his homophobic father. It was shown that he disliked him but this would have just made it certain just how much, and be more true the the story of his life.
Other than that though it was very good Michael Sheen who played Kenneth was extremely good with the impression of him and his persona. You could relate to the character you felt pain and sadness when he did. Following him from Carry On films to doing Round the Horne and Just a minute ( radio shows that I grew up with as my parents had them on cassette you know before CD's) to his deterioration of health. I liked the ending as it was never known whether his death was an accident or suicide and they portrayed this point very well. Although it does steer more to the thought of suicide.
I personally love Kenneth Williams and this program was interesting and heart felt if you like Carry On and or Kenneth Williams check this out it is currently on BBC Iplayer.
Watch this space people as the review on either Magic Mike or Savages will be with you shortly!!

TED
Hello everyone!
So I have just watched Ted and I have to say it was ok. I will be the first to admit I wasn't really that fussed about seeing this movie but now I'm glad I have. There is one tiny little thing that annoys me about it Mark Wahlberg's fake accent urgh he really should just stick with his actual voice ( but that ain't much better). But other than that it was good.
We start off the movie when John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) is young. It is Christmas which we are told by the Narrator ( Patrick Stewart) We find out that John has no friends and even gets envious of a Jewish boy that is getting beaten up( erm weird but ok whatever makes him jealous). On Christmas day John gets a massive teddy bear and that night wishes that he could talk back and be his best friend for ever. which happens and Ted agrees. As you might think Ted becomes a over night celebrity but never forgets about his best friend and as time goes on people forget about Ted.
We join them again 27 years later when John lives with his girlfriend Lori ( Mila Kunis) and of course Ted . Spending there time smoking weed and watching Flash Gordon ( there childhood film). So Lori gets fed up with John acting like a manchild and tells him that Ted has to move out for the good of there relationship, and that is where the story really gets good but for those of you that ain't seen it I will digress to what I make of the film as a whole.
I found Ted enjoyable to watch it made me laugh out loud in places and i thought the CGI was done pretty good. I love Seth Macfarlane anyway and like the fact that he has the same freedom with Ted as he does with Family Guy. The bit that really got me in the film is when Ted is having a party and he said " I dont sound that much like Peter Griffen" that was priceless. Ted was an awesome character he was rude, obnoxious, drank, smoked and loved his hookers. He also wasn't very PC but still you love the character and you feel sorry for him and you really got a good connection with him throughout the movie.
So if you are wanting to see this movie go and see it and if you weren't planning on it then re-think you might enjoy it. But a word of warning if your kids are wanted to see it because of the adverts really think about taking then there is drug use a lot and sex with the movie not to mention the language for example C**t is said.
So that is that and thank you for reading. My next review will be on either Savages or Magic Mike so watch this space to fine out.

The Dark Knight Rises
Hello Everyone!!
Sorry it has taken me so long to put this post up. Due to many reasons it has taken me this long to actually see the movie but I hope you like what I have to say.
Before I get into the actual movie I just want to say that my best wishes and thoughts go out to all the families effected by what happened at the Midnight screening of this movie in Aurora.
Ok so to begin with what an entrance from the new villain Bane, until he speaks.... I'm sorry but his voice, to me it sounded like a cross between Darth Vader and Patrick Stewart, not really suiting to how he looks. I will admit I did laugh a little when he first spoke. But after a bit I did kind of get over it you just kind of deal with the fact that thats the voice it isn't going to change.
So all in all the first event of the film grips you into the story you meet the villain he kicks some butt then we go to Gotham where everyone hates Batman and loves Harvey Dent they have even named the day of his death Harvey Dent Day. This bit i did like for obvious reasons that it instantly reminds of the end of Dark Knight, so for people that haven't seen it for a while will remember what Batman did for Gotham.
8 years have passed since the Joker and for all the 'obvious reasons' Bruce Wayne has decided to lock himself away from the entire city wallowing in self pity and becoming the main subject to peoples rumours. (Bring in the lovely Alfred) Now i love Alfred he is the voice of reason and the father figure how can you not love this lovely, wise man. In my opinion Michael Caine did an awesome job in this movie. He made me smile and almost cry ( and I mean almost I'm not one to cry at movies not even really really sad ones). Unfortunately though you don't see him that much (sad times) for reasons that I'm not going to say just in case some of you have not seen it yet. But it did make me go NO!!! in my head. The small amounts he is in it though they were mainly very heart felt words of wisdom there were some slightly amusing lines but not as much as i would have expected from Alfred.
The comedic lines came from the lovely Ann Hatherway Who of course was playing the awesome Selina Kyle ( my favourite Batman character) I must admit she had some good one liners and she kicked arse. I mean come on at one point she uses a guy as a human shield, A HUMAN SHIELD! which is my definition of kick arse. She was funny, sexy, seductive and well worthy of playing Catwomen. (She is now in my top 3 sorry Michelle Pfeiffer) Her costume was incredibly tight well done to her for getting in and out of it and not fainting ( I wouldn't be able to) and the best thing about her costume was of course the goggles, that when put on her head turns them into ears (AWESOME). For those of you very few people they may not have seen her outfit here it is..
.
There are a few new main characters in the movie besides Bane and also some old ones (hello Scarecrow awesome to see you again). We have Mirander (Marion Cotillard) which to be completely honest came out of no where. There is no explanation as to where she came from and how she came to be on the Wayne Enterprises board, and apparently Bruce Wayne's love interest ( come one people back stories are needed with things like this 8 years have past) although later on some things are explained.
But yeah I digress the other new addition is Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) a cop and orphan who does have a back story (yay) but annoys me for this one reason, he knew that Bruce was Batman by his eyes yes his eyes... I'm sorry but in the comics and other films plus TVseries so it is widely known that Bruce is the master of disguise and acting no one has ever found out or realised that Bruce Wayne is Batman as quickly has Blake did (by his EYES ) urghhhh that just really annoyed me.
So what are my thoughts on the movie as a whole, believe it or not by the rest of my ranting I did really enjoy this movie there were some good fight scenes although the final fight between Bruce and Bane was disappointing and Bane deserved a better death. There was loads of explosions, funny bits, sad bits, good acting and it kept you entertained. The ending I thought couldn't have been done any better i loved it, so many unexpected twists and turns. The story comes to a close and the trilogy is complete. In my opinion it was a great ending to Nolan's films and I can't pick out of the three of them which is my favourite they were all so different from each other so there is no way I am going to compare the 3.
So yes I enjoyed it I recommend it if you liked the other 2 films and love batman as much as me. Yes of course there are flaws but if i can look past them i'm sure you can to. Thanks for reading and by next post will be about TED so watch this space it will be up soon :)
P.S one last thing two of my lovely geeky friends have started a blog together. If you call yourself a geek or just like geeky stuff then check this out they are called TWO GEEKS ONE BLOG and you can find them through this link:

My top 3 Catwomen
In celebration of the the new Batman ( Dark knight: rises) that is to be released on cinema screens this Friday. I have decided to write about my top 3 Actresses that played Catwomen, obviously Anne Hatherway is not going to be in it as I haven't seen the movie yet but I will review the new Batman as soon as I have seen it. So lets get on with this shall we my number three is.......
3. Michelle Pfeiffer
Ok so lots of people urge Michelle Pfeiffer to play Catwoman again and word on the vine was that she really wanted to as well but unfortunately it never came to be. I did enjoy watching her play Selina Kyle and thought she brought the character to a new height after the tv series. Her costume however did annoy me a little bit the best thing about her costume was the gloves. The mask was the main thing that annoyed me the eyes in the mask are massive and really don't need to be it ruins the effect of her make up so when all together don't give the illusion of cats eyes. But that is just a reall small thing and i'm just been picky. All in all her performance was good the illusion of cat women never really leaving even when she was out of costume. She was sexy and alluring the way catwomen is meant to be perceived.
Lee Meriwether
From the 1966 Batman movie, Lee Meriwether playing catwomen is one that most fans will remember in a good way. Yes her accent was the hight of annoyance but when in her catsuit every man wanted her and every women wanted to be her. When playing Catwomen every man should want to be seduced and i think she may have pulled it off. If you haven't watch the 1966 Batman movie yes it is very cheesy but it has its moments. If you are a fan of Batman you really should give it a watch.
And my number one is if you haven't guessed already.......
1. Julie Newmar

She was the first catwomen and the one in my opinion that everyone tries to act out in the own way but never get it right. She was sophisticated, sexy and in my opinion the purrr-fect catwomen. She bought the catwomen to life for so many Batman fans all over. I know by me saying this alot of people well disagree and say that Eartha Kitt was better to which I will say yes Eartha Kitt did the perfect gag of catwomen but come on Julie Newmar did it first. She is my all time favourite Catwomen and if you haven't the 1966 TV series with her in seriously watch it you may fine you love her as much as I do.
So there we have it my top 3 favourite Catwomen. I would love to here who your favourite catwomen is so please leave comments as i would be interested to know.
I will be back soon watch this space.

Mirrormask (2005)
Hey everyone i know it has been a while so here is a blog on a film my friend showed me recently. :) I hope you like it.
MIRRORMASK
This is about a 15 year old girl that wants to leave her parents circus and be in what she calls the real world. When her mum becomes sick she ends up in a fantasy world where she has to save there world to save her own. To do this she must find the Mirror mask with the help of a friend she makes called Valentine.
This film is directed by Jim Henson and his wife but it isn't the typical puppets you are used to seeing in The Muppets, Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. This film is pretty much all CGI and it seems to work really well although there are some places where it is a little rubbish but then again I have found that with most mainly CGI films they have times where it is quiet up to scratch.
The main character Helena (Stephanie Leonidas) is annoying but then again it is pretty much like the rest of the Jim Henson stuff I mean i don't know anyone yet that doesn't find Sarah (Labyrinth) and Jen ( Dark Crystal) annoying at some point during the movie if not all the time. But you still find away to but that behind you and start to sympathize with the character on the journey through self discovery. Although Leonidas seems to plat an annoying 15 year old very well. There are a few famous people in this movie that i am sure you wonderful people would have heard of for example Rob Brydon, Steven Fry, Lenny Henry and Robert Llewellyn.
All in all I really enjoyed this movie and recommend it to anyone that like weird and wonderful fairytales. Or is you just like Jim Henson and want to see this new style he and his company have done.
So watch this space i will be back soon with more films for you :)

Top 5 chick flicks
5. Dirty Dancing 1987
So I thought I would start with an obvious one just to get the ball rolling. This is a classic chick flick and loved by millions all over the world. Directed by Emile Ardolino this film has a great soundtrack, memorable quotes and a heart warming love story. With Patrick Swayze at his peak (RIP) and his on screen partner Jennifer Grey ( Ferris Bueller's Day Off) They bring the story to life, of a teenage girl finding love with her dance instructor on a family vacation. This film is perfect to watch with friends on a girls night in or even on your own if you just need a bit of cheering up.
4. Stepmom 1998
Stepmom is a film about a women that is trying to get on with her step kids but it doesn't help her when the kids mother hates her and finds everything she does is wrong. With the queen of chick flicks Julia Roberts ( Pretty women, Erin Brockovich, Notting Hill and My best friends wedding) playing the step mom and Susan Sarandon (Thelma and Louise, Rocky Horror, Enchanted and The Witches of Eastwick) playing the Mother. This film is sad in places so that is a warning if you are the kind of person that cries at films. But there are fun bits in it to, so sit back and enjoy the journey that the film will take you on with highs and lows.
3. 13 going on 30 2004
This is the perfect film to watch on a girls night in. It is funny, happy and has awesome music that you will be singing along to and possibly dance along to ( which me and one of my friends has been known to do every time we watch this) So a girl named Jenna plays a game on her 13th Birthday and the next day ends up a 30 year old women. Jennifer Garner ( Juno, Ghosts of girlfriends past and Pear Harbour) plays the role of Jenna and the on screen love a man named Matty that was her best friend in school is played by none other that the very handsome and cute Mark Ruffalo ( The Avengers, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind and Zodiac). This one is definitely one to watch.
2. The Breakfast Club 1985
This is one of my all time favourite movies and the perfect chilling movie. I will admit is starts of a little slow but it is funny and very well written. It s Directed and Written by John Hughes that also brought us sixteen candles, curly sue, weird science and pretty in pink. The story is about a group of kids in detention they are known as the criminal, brain, princess, jock and a basket case. They pour there hearts out to each other and find that they have more in common than they first thought. The characters are played by Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez and Anthony Michael Hall. I don't just recommend this film to girls many of my guy friends and watched and loved it as well so girls show your boyfriends and male friends and see if they like it too.
1. Labyrinth 1986

All I should have to say about this movie is its frigging David Bowie!! But I guess I better say a little bit more about it. This is a fantasy film Directed by Jim Henson that brought us the Muppets. So as you can guess there are a lot of puppets involved but they are a lot more dark than his usual kermit and miss piggy. It is classed as a musical and the songs will be stuck in your head and are very enjoyable. The story is a girl named Sarah wishes her brother to be taken away and so the Goblin King takes her little brother Toby away. Realising she has made a terrible mistake she then has 13 hours in which to get through the Labyrinth and save her brother before he is turned into a goblin for ever. There are so many lovable and memorable character that you will love forever after watching this. So give it a go! Warning though there are many crotch shots within this movie as David Bowie wears very tight trousers.

Top Cat
Ok
So I have watched Top Cat movie and the critics where right it is appallingly bad. It has some slightly amusing moments but nothing amazing this film won't be one of those that stick in your head for a long time you will soon forget about it. I must admit I got bored 30 minutes in and thought about not watching it any more but I stuck in there to see if it redeemed itself. But no it didn't! The bit that really confused me was all the technology, it was obviously meant to be set along time in the future with robots and holograms. ( would Top Cat really have lasted that long? something tells me he would have been long gone by then considering in the cartoon if I remember rightly they didn't even have cell phones) I know it is a cartoon and you are meant to expend your belief but this much?
And things that just don't go anywhere like the bad guy ( Strickland ) randomly get out a mirror and is completely obsessed with himself and looks but there is no reason behind it you can only come to the conclusion he is deluded there is no back story behind him not even a one line mention as to why. Also he randomly tells us about a mole on his arse that is shaped like a cow and wants to show it to Officer Dibble I think it is meant to be funny but to be honest it just made me go WTF?. Also one part when they are trying to save TC a bell calls a random horse from no where in the middle of New York City that just disappears and you never see again I mean why? They could of hid in a lorry/car or mail van it would make more sense!
So all in all if you liked Top Cat as a kid don't watch it you will be highly disappointed. Yes the voice acting is good and it is nice to see all the old TC gang but it really does nothing for the image of Top Cat. The best I can say is your kids will probably like it it might keep them entertained for a short while.
So that is it from me but as always it is good to make your own opinions about movies everyone has different ideas about what makes a good movie :)
What this space see you all soon
